Avoiding Newspaper Headline Risk: Transparency and Performance Reporting in Microfinance

When

This event took place on 13 Jul 2010 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

Details

Microfinance Club of New York, the SEEP Network, Women Advancing Microfinance-New York, and Women’s World Banking are pleased to invite you to an evening discussion of one of the most important challenges that the microfinance industry is facing.

The microfinance industry is expanding - and so is its profile. While MFI managers and stakeholders thought they had enough challenges operating on a rapidly evolving landscape, reputational risk is quickly demanding more of their attention and strategic thinking, as recent bad press is making "interest rates" and "IPO" the dirty words of microfinance.

Join us at Citi offices this Tuesday, July 13th at 6pm for a discussion on how the microfinance industry can prime itself for great reviews from the NY Times and investors alike. Industry leaders will share their perspectives on how more standardized, effective financial performance reporting and transparency can keep microfinance reputationally sound.

Moderator:

Christina (CJ) Juhasz, Director, Capital Markets Group, Women’s World Banking
